I mentioned that this tour was about hospitality, and last night The Spiegel Family treated us so well. We drove over from Emory to Richardson, TX just before the rains began and unloaded our Uhaul into their living room. They opened their home to us, helped us move their furniture to set up our instruments and fed us a homemade dinner. They talked with us for hours and even showed me to a quiet little room so I could take a nap before the show. So gracious.
My camera is still packed but I'll post a picture Monday hopefully of the group we shared songs and stories with last night. I was getting sick and I sang too hard on my voice so I'm not speaking or singing for the next two days. Thankfully, our schedule worked out with two back to back days of rest! I need it right now. The group was wonderful. We saw some old friends and several new friends who came out in spite of the cold and rain to welcome us and our songs. We hope they felt welcomed by us and our songs too.
We began a new tradition. A Guestbook for folks to sign before leaving the concert. We have one in our home back in Memphis for folks to visit us. Even though we are the ones visiting these homes, we really do feel that those who come to listen are our guests. We hope to be good hosts to those who choose to enter into our singing room for a concert.
Thanks Spiegel family! Thanks to our friends who made good room for us, listened, and shared with us last night.
